First Task in NZ Accomplished!

Well, besides arriving safe and sound that is!...

The first order of business just had to be checking out which way the water flushes in the toilet! (And no, I hadn't used the bathroom - this was only a flush done purely for research with viewers in mind...) Sorry I am not more technologically advanced or I would have recorded the event and posted the film clip.

I'll post more later, right now I am waaaaaayyyyy too tired to stay up much longer. Just one quick picture of the view from my balcony though! The steam you see is the thermal activity that one can see all over Rotorua. Tomorrow I'll go explore more closely!

Oh, and the mountains in Fiji!.....

You are hillarious hon. Just went to Bruce's blog and had a cry, then went to your blog and laughed out right at work.

Well done. It looks beautiful of course - can't wait to see more photos of your adventures!!

Hey Honey! GOD it was so good to talk to you today! I can't wait until my laptop comes in so I can see you again!

I'm glad you left a post, these are my "first" views of our new life. Seems every morsel of information is like gold, you are my eyes and ears there. I'm so excited to see the photo even if it's frumpy weather!

Miss you hon!

lol. I was wondering about the toilet shot...

Could use some of those thermals myself around now.

Glad to see you getting settled.

My son has just realized that the turmoil of water in the tub ALWAYS goes to ONE DIRECTION. I am amazed by the fact that water swirls to the opposite direction in the different hemispheres.
Now I believe you're down there :))
In fact I wouldn't have minded if you had used it for *real* purposes...Flushing is part of life, isn't it?
Anyway, I love that look from the balcony!!!
Can't wait to see more similarly beautiful images.

It's me again. I showed this photo to my son. He looked at it and did not understand at first. I made the picture bigger and remembered him of his recent habit of watching the turmoil in the tub. His first question was 'allright, but where does she live?' I told him that you live now in NZ. He was reassured and said: 'So that's why it looks like this.' He said it in the most natural and neutral tone of his.

Tia, I am so glad to know you got there safely. Get some rest and recover from jetlag. I can't wait to see more photos.

Glad to hear you arrived safely in NZ - even if you aren't in the "Mainland" (local slang for the South Island) :)
The view from your balcony looks great. I guess you have got used to the sulphur smell by now and aren't noticing it any more.
