Thank You, Grandma

Thank you for waiting for us to get to Finland and to see you before making your exit from this earth. I know you had been ready to go for some time now, and yet somehow it seems you sensed it was important for me to see you one last time before you left. So, even though your mind and body were tired, you waited for me. Your eyes had grown tired and dim - but now you can look God right in the eyes.

I am strangely excited and happy for you - I have no doubt you are in a more peaceful and beautiful place than us now. It makes me happy to know you have no more worries and no more anxiety. Most of all, I am selfishly happy to know we have one more beautiful guardian angel watching over us on this journey of ours.

Thank you for everything grandma. All is well. We love you.

I'm so glad she waited till you saw her one last time. It is a weird trip for sure, Tia. You've given her a nice send off...one with love.

We can all use more guardian angels.

Tia, I felt very sad for you reading this, even though that is not the feeling in your writing. Even though I understand your feelings. I have often felt the same feeling when people who are old or sick have died in my life.... Almost happy for them. Even when my mother's friend died unexpectedly I felt a strange peace for her. It is wonderful that you got to see her isn't it! And even though it is out of place to say, you look beautiful and shinning in this photo. Like you are a guardian angel of some kind!

Tia, I am sorry about your grandmother's passing - but happy to know you got to see her before. How special that must have been for her. My dad died on the very day I was travelling to see him and I will forever regret not going a day earlier.
